Introduction

READ ME:
All submissions, including images, to WikiFic must
1) be written by yourself OR be copied from a public domain or similar free resource.
2) not contain any watermarks, such as a site logo/name or similar on the images.

For all card images, the preferred specifications are 400 x 580 *.jpg images which are 1st Edition or Limited Edition, unless images of that size are, for whatever reason, unavailable. If there is an image already on the server that meets this criteria and you would like to upload a better version (for example, one that isn't discolored, blurred, etc.), please contact one of the administrators (such as Azurite) first. If there is no image, check the Image Galleries first, then please feel free to upload it but keep the specs as close to preferred as possible. If you feel that alternative artwork for a card (such as for the Blue-Eyes White Dragon cards) may be useful for an article, you may upload an alternative image to the above criteria, IN ADDITION to a) an existing image that already meets that criteria; or b) another image that you are also uploading that DOES meet the criteria. Rarity does not matter, so long as the image is clear and meets as much of the above criteria as possible especially in regards to the size, clarity, and lack of watermark(s).

Please remember WikiFic is a dynamic, constantly-changing site. If your image is replaced because it doesn't fit the current image policy, please do not be offended. We are trying to collect the best Yu-Gi-Oh! images to improve our articles. Likewise, please do not upload images that do not have some direct connection to an existing article, or an article you intend to author. We don't need our galleries filled with images that we can't use in articles!

Guidelines

File names are to be standardized as follows:

CardNameSET-LN-R.jpg

CardName is the official UpperDeck Entertainment English card name of the card (if it exists in the English TCG) OR, the commonly-accepted English translation of the card's name from Japanese (if it does NOT exist in the English TCG). If you're dealing with Japanese OCG-only cards, a good source of accepted English name translations are the numerous Yu-Gi-Oh! video games. If at all possible, try to get the name from the NEWEST of these (i.e., try WC6 first, then NTR, then WC5, and so on). In the card name please spell it exactly as it appears on the card (including capital and lowercase letters) without spaces, including any of the following characters, should they appear:

  • Commas (,)
  • Dashes/Hyphens (-)
  • Ampersands (&)
  • Exclamation Marks (!)
  • Percent Signs (%)
  • Apostrophes (')

The only exceptions to this rule are Periods (.), Question Marks (?), and Pound/Number Signs (#). DO NOT include these characters in the name!

SET is the two to four character abbreviation used for the set's name (e.g., MFC for Magician's Force, 301 for "The New Ruler", etc.). For Anime cards, please ignore this section. Some early cards have no set abbreviation. In this case, a few commonly-accepted abbreviations have been decided upon. These currently include:

  • Booster 2 = B2
  • Booster 3 = B3
  • Booster 4 = B4
  • Booster 5 = B5

  • Volume 2 = V2
  • Volume 3 = V3
  • Volume 4 = V4
  • Volume 5 = V5
  • Volume 6 = V6
  • Volume 7 = V7
