Traditional Format

The Traditional Format refers to what cards in the TCG are Forbidden, Limited, or Semi-Limited. This affects Deck structure, as certain cards may not be used in decks at all, while others are limited to only one or two copies (unlimited cards may have up to three copies within the deck). Traditional Format is common for many non-tournament environments, with few exceptions.

Traditional Format was created to counter the strict rules of the Advanced Format, and as such, includes no Forbidden cards. It is not used in Regional, National, or World Championship events. There is no Traditional Format for the Japanese OCG.
