Not to nit or anything, but Shadi is an actual name... Just cause the kana spells out one thing exactly doesn't mean that's how you should spell it in English. Like how Malik innit Mariku. - Fran

Well, when romanizing katakana, if there's a line in it (Sha-di-), you're supposed to double-up the vowels. If the name were hiragana, then you'd double up the vowel by using an additional kana-- if it were o, you'd either use two o, or use o-u (like the end of the series name, Yu-Gi-Oh/Yuugiou).

I do believe Fran knows that. I think the point she's making is that although that is what the katakana says, we should consider the fact that a direct romanisation thereof might not be the most "correct" way to write his name in English.

For instance, the katakana for Keith's name is Kiisu Howaado but we know that it's actually Keith Howard--just as Rishido = Rishid, Ishizu = Isis, Mariku = Malik, etc., etc. Therefore, it may be correct to romanise his name differently. Jeti 00:14, 7 September 2007 (EDT)
