Millennium Eye

The Millennium Eye is a Millennium Item, first introduced as belonging to Pegasus J. Crawford. It was forced upon him by Shaadii while he was visiting Egypt. The Eye's power allows him to remove souls and place them into cards and to see into the minds of others, a skill he takes advantage of during various duels. He uses both of these powers to lure Yuugi into his card tournament at Duelist Kingdom by defeating him and taking the soul of his grandfather, Sugoroku Mutou, and sealing it within a card (a camera, in the manga). By the end of Duelist Kingdom he has also placed the souls of Seto and Mokuba Kaiba into cards.

The only time his mind-reading strategy backfired was during his final duel against Yuugi Mutou/Dark Yuugi, who managed to evade having their minds read by switching control with each other in between placing cards, assuring that Pegasus would be unable to read their cards because they didn't know themselves what their other personality had placed.

After losing this duel, Pegasus is confronted with Dark Bakura, who forcibly removes the eye from his head. He is later seen licking the eye in victory in both the manga and NAS anime adaptation, although the scene was considerably more gruesome in the manga.

In the manga just preceding the Ancient Egypt story arc, Dark Bakura passes on the Eye to Yuugi. In the anime, he gives it to Kaiba instead.
