Effect Monsters
From WikiFic
Effect Monsters are Monster Cards that are color-coded a dark orange color. Unlike Normal Monster Cards, they have more than just Flavor Text in the Card Text field; beside the card's Type (Fairy, Fiend, etc.), the secondary Sub-Type Effect is listed. Effects can vary a great deal, but are generally classified as one of the following five effect types:
- Flip
- Continuous
- Ignition (includes the sub-type formerly known as Cost Monster Effects)[1]
- Trigger
- Multi-Trigger
There are also a few unofficial types that may sometimes fit into the above categories, or may not:
- Psuedo-Flip Monster Effects, which are effects that resemble a Flip effect, but do not actually have "FLIP" printed on the card.
- Compulsory or Optional is a sub-type that can fit into any of the above categories and determines whether a card's effect MUST be resolved (Compulsory) or whether the activation of its effect is at the discretion of the card controller (Optional).
